The Importance of Meditation and Mindfulness in Our Daily Lives

What is Meditation and Mindfulness ?
Meditation isn’t about becoming a different person, a new person, or even a better person. It’s about training in awareness and getting a healthy sense of perspective. You’re not trying to turn off your thoughts or feelings. You’re learning to observe them without judgment. And eventually, you may start to better understand them as well.
Meditation can be defined as a set of techniques that are intended to encourage a heightened state of awareness
and focused attention. Meditation is also a consciousness-changing technique that has been shown to have a wide number of benefits on psychological well-being.

Mindfulness is the ability to be in the here and now, fully present in the moment. Being fully engaged in whatever
we are doing.
You learn to meditate by meditating. There is no other way around it. The silence and stillness you experience in meditation and the increased happiness and diminished stress you experience outside meditation are so attractive and welcomed that you naturally teach yourself how to go deeper into that silence and stillness each time you meditate.
We are what we think. All that we are arises with our thoughts. With our thoughts, we make the world.

The Benefits Of Meditation And Mindfulness.
There is scientific proof linking meditation to improved sleep, reduced anxiety, lower blood pressure,
decreased pain and a myriad of other health benefits. Add to these increased self-awareness, tolerance, resilience, and understanding, and you’ve got a win-win. Whatever form of meditation you choose, you will discover that committing to a regular meditation practice gives rise to an abundance of holistic benefits.
Speaking from experience, i would suggest to start the day with a 30 minutes meditation before starting anything else. It really does do the trick and helps to get a clear mind and harmonious energy. Meditation is a form of self-love. Giving oneself the time and space to just being and bringing in awareness our thoughts and surroundings. We owe it to ourselves as humans to take care of not just the physical plane but also the psychological side.
